Executive summary

CrowdStrike Falcon Go is the wrong tier for any small business that needs to investigate an attack, undo ransomware damage, manage more than 100 devices or run several clients from one console; for a small team that only wants strong prevention, it is a sound buy. As of 30 September 2026 Falcon Go costs $59.99 per endpoint per year and includes next-generation antivirus, device control and mobile protection. EDR is not offered, ransomware rollback is not offered and MSP multi-tenant management is not offered. Falcon Go scores 62 on the SMB Fit Score, placing #7.

The usual mistake is buying the CrowdStrike name and assuming it brings CrowdStrike's EDR. On CrowdStrike's own pricing pages, EDR starts at Falcon Enterprise, two tiers up. If EDR is what you want, Microsoft Defender for Business includes it for $36.00 per user per year.

What Falcon Go is, and is not

CrowdStrike's Falcon Go pricing page (checked 30 September 2026) lists four things: next-gen antivirus, device control, mobile protection for iOS and Android, and Express Support. Billed annually it costs $59.99 per endpoint per year. A monthly plan is also offered, at a higher cost over a full year than paying annually. Either way it renews automatically, and it comes with a 30-day full-refund offer that CrowdStrike's order terms do not extend to month-to-month subscriptions. Purchases are limited to 100 devices.

The same page sets out the ladder. Falcon Pro adds firewall management. Falcon Enterprise is the first tier with endpoint detection and response. A small business that wants CrowdStrike EDR is therefore buying Falcon Enterprise, at a price well above Falcon Go. Every plan's price at 5 to 100 devices, and what each one adds, is on our CrowdStrike pricing page.

Falcon Go's lab record is strong, with one caveat. AV-Comparatives tested CrowdStrike's platform as Falcon Enterprise in its March to June 2026 round, and CrowdStrike detected 89 of 90 substeps in the 2025 MITRE ATT&CK Evaluation. Neither test isolates the Go bundle, so treat them as evidence about CrowdStrike's engine rather than about this tier's feature set.

Five situations where Falcon Go is the wrong tier

You want to see what an attacker did

Without EDR, Falcon Go blocks what it recognises and tells you little about what got past. If a cyber insurer, a client contract or a regulator expects you to investigate incidents, you need EDR, and it costs less outside CrowdStrike's EDR tier:

ThreatDown AdvancedIncludedIncludedIncludedIncludedAdd-on
SentinelOne Singularity CompleteIncludedIncludedIncludedAdd-onAdd-on
From each vendor's product and pricing pages. "Add-on" means available at extra cost. Follow a product link for sources and verification dates.

Pick Microsoft Defender for Business if you are on Microsoft 365; it is licensed per user, already included in Business Premium, and the only EDR product here with current results from both AV-Test and AV-Comparatives. Pick ThreatDown Advanced if you want EDR outside Microsoft with rollback and patch management in the same agent. Do not count on Bitdefender Business Security Premium for this: Bitdefender describes it as prevention "without additional detection and response capabilities".

You need ransomware rollback

Rollback is not offered in Falcon Go. For a Windows office where losing a morning to restores would hurt, ThreatDown Advanced ($79.00 per endpoint per year) adds rollback and patch management in one agent. Rollback is not a backup; our ransomware rollback reference covers what it does and does not recover.

Nobody will act on an alert

Falcon Go has no managed service at this tier. If the business has no one to respond out of hours, buying better detection alone changes little. Choose a product with 24/7 response in the price:

Annual totals from each vendor's store or calculator at list price. "Quote only" means the vendor publishes no online price at that seat count; "Min N seats" means the vendor's smallest purchase is larger.

Pick ThreatDown Elite if you want to buy online; the store sells 5 to 20 devices, and larger fleets buy through ThreatDown or a partner. Pick Huntress Managed EDR if your MSP already uses it, since Huntress sets no minimum for MSP clients; direct and reseller buyers face a 50-endpoint minimum. The Falcon Go vs Huntress comparison sets out that trade in detail.

You are growing past 100 devices

Falcon Go stops at 100 devices, so a business at 70 and hiring will outgrow it within a planning cycle. Choose a product that is sold above 100 seats; the price index marks where each vendor's online store stops. Microsoft Defender for Business is licensed for up to 300 users. Several prevention products publish online prices only up to about 100 devices: Bitdefender GravityZone Business Security to 100 and ESET PROTECT Core to 99, with larger orders quoted by sales. At that size a quote is normal, but ask for it before you commit.

You are an MSP

Falcon Go has no multi-tenant console and no RMM or PSA integration. An MSP managing several small clients will spend more time switching consoles than the licence saves. Endpoint security for MSPs covers the products built for that model.

Where Falcon Go is the right buy

Falcon Go is a good fit for a small team with no IT staff, mixed laptops and phones, and no appetite for alerts. Mobile protection is included, which many rivals charge extra for, and monthly billing lets a new business start small. It is a prevention product, and it is honest about that.

Latest published round per lab, as recorded on each product page. Results marked "Dated" are past the freshness window and score zero in the SMB Fit Score. MITRE does not rank or score vendors.

The trade-off runs one way. The products with current lab results either lack EDR (Falcon Go and Bitdefender Premium) or leave response to you (Defender). The products with managed response have no recent AV-Test or AV-Comparatives results. Decide which gap you can live with before comparing prices.

Mistakes to avoid when leaving Falcon Go

  • Upgrading to Falcon Pro for EDR. Pro adds firewall management; EDR is in Falcon Enterprise.
  • Buying EDR without a plan for alerts. EDR records incidents; someone still has to respond.
  • Forgetting mobile. Falcon Go covers iOS and Android. Bitdefender and ThreatDown charge extra for mobile.
  • Switching mid-term without checking the terms. CrowdStrike's 30-day refund covers new annual purchases, not month-to-month ones, and the subscription auto-renews; ask what applies after the first 30 days before switching mid-term.

Frequently asked questions

Does CrowdStrike Falcon Go include EDR?

No. EDR is not offered in Falcon Go. CrowdStrike's pricing pages place endpoint detection and response in Falcon Enterprise.

What is a cheaper alternative to CrowdStrike with EDR?

Microsoft Defender for Business includes EDR at $36.00 per user per year, and ThreatDown Advanced includes it at $79.00 per endpoint per year. CrowdStrike's own EDR starts at Falcon Enterprise, which this database does not price.

Is CrowdStrike Falcon Go good for a small business?

Yes, for a small team that wants prevention without alerts to manage. CrowdStrike Falcon Go has strong lab evidence for CrowdStrike's engine and includes mobile protection. It is the wrong choice if you need EDR, rollback, more than 100 devices or MSP tools.

How does Falcon Go compare with SentinelOne?

SentinelOne Singularity Complete includes EDR and rollback but costs $179.99 per endpoint per year. Singularity Control, the lower SentinelOne tier with EDR and rollback, lists at $79.99 per endpoint per year. Both are sold only through partners, with a list price shown for 5 to 100 workstations and no public free trial. See the Falcon Go vs SentinelOne comparison.

Methodology and caveats

Falcon Go's price, capabilities and lab status come from its product page, each value with a source and verification date. The tier ladder (Falcon Pro adds firewall management; Falcon Enterprise adds EDR) and the 100-device limit were checked on CrowdStrike's Falcon Go pricing page on 30 September 2026. Falcon Pro and Falcon Enterprise are not tracked in this database, so their prices are not shown here. Falcon Go's score is capped by what it leaves out, since the SMB Fit Score counts included capabilities; it says nothing against the quality of CrowdStrike's prevention.
