Who is it for, and who is it not for?
Avast Ultimate Business Security is a sound pick for a small Windows and Mac office that wants patching handled for it. Patch management is in the bundle, you can check out online, and both AV-Test (August 2026) and AV-Comparatives (first half of 2026) rate the protection well. It stops at prevention, with no EDR and no ransomware rollback, and the licence renews automatically at the higher standard rate.
Only MSPs on ConnectWise Automate get a named Avast integration; everyone else works through Business Hub and a generic API. The per-device price is noticeably lower at 100 seats than at 10, which helps on larger clients. With no SIEM connector and no EDR, Avast keeps clients patched and scanned but gives an MSP nothing to investigate with.
Avast Business is a poor fit for HIPAA work: Avast publishes no BAA and no SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, CMMC or FedRAMP claims for its Business line. A practice that buys it anyway carries the whole compliance argument on its own.
