Questions about Acronis pricing
What is the difference between Cyber Protect Standard and Cyber Protect Advanced?
Cyber Protect Advanced adds one-click recovery, backup for KVM, XenServer, RHV and Oracle VM hosts, group management, safe recovery of backups and EDR (detection and response, cloud deployment only) and costs $44.00 more a workstation a year ($129.00 against $85.00).
How much does Acronis Cyber Protect cost for a server?
About seven times a workstation. In Acronis's calculator one server costs $595.00 a year on Standard, $925.00 on Advanced and $779.00 on Backup Advanced, against $85.00, $129.00 and $109.00 for a workstation. Linux machines need the server licence whatever their role.
Does Acronis Cyber Protect include EDR?
Only the Advanced edition, and only in cloud deployment. Acronis's edition comparison ticks event monitoring, incident response and attack-specific rollback for Advanced alone, and its FAQ lists EDR among the features "available only in cloud deployment".
Does Acronis Cyber Protect Backup Advanced include antivirus?
No. Acronis's edition comparison ticks ransomware and cryptojacking protection for Backup Advanced but not antivirus and anti-malware protection, and Acronis recommends it when "you’re focused on backup (not security)". Standard, which costs less, includes antivirus.
Is there a free Acronis Cyber Protect trial?
Yes, for 30 days. Acronis's trial page says "No credit card required, full access to all features"; the form asks for a name, business email and phone number.
Does Acronis sign a HIPAA business associate agreement?
Yes, but only for Cyber Protect Advanced with an Acronis Cloud Storage subscription (or the separate Cyber Protect Cloud), not for Standard or Backup Advanced. Acronis signs it with existing customers or with the purchase, says "a BAA cannot be signed in advance", and names a US-based data centre for HIPAA use.
