- Buy online without sales: yes
- Minimum seats: 5
- Needs in-house security staff: no

## Who it suits

- small no it: OpenText Core Endpoint Protection (formerly Webroot Business Endpoint) has the lowest list price per seat in this index at 10, 25 and 100 seats ($30 a year), so it fits a small PC and Mac office on a tight budget that buys online from five devices. The risk is that no independent lab has tested it, so you are trusting OpenText's own claims. EDR and managed response exist only as paid extras.
- msp managed: For an MSP that bills clients monthly, OpenText Core Endpoint Protection fits well: OpenText's order terms cover monthly, quarterly and yearly subscriptions (the online cart sells yearly terms, with extra seats billed monthly), and the multi-tenant console works with N-able, Kaseya VSA and both ConnectWise Automate and Manage. A SOC gets very little from it: there is no SIEM connector, and device control is missing too.
- regulated: Regulated offices should look elsewhere. OpenText publishes no current SOC 2 report, ISO 27001 certificate, HIPAA BAA, PCI DSS, CMMC or FedRAMP position for Core Endpoint Protection, has no Linux agent, and sells EDR only as an add-on.

## Not for, or worth knowing

- Organisations requiring SIEM integration: no named SIEM integration is published for Business Endpoint Protection (OpenText Core Endpoint Protection). (source: https://community.opentextcybersecurity.com/integrations-43, verified 2026-10-02)
- No independent AV-Test, AV-Comparatives, or MITRE ATT&CK evaluation results. (source: https://www.webroot.com/us/en/business/products/endpoint-protection, verified 2026-10-02)
- EDR and managed detection and response are paid add-ons; no device control, SIEM integration, or Linux support.
