## Buying and running it

- Buy online without sales: no
- Minimum seats: not stated by the vendor (Cynet publishes no seat minimum; it sells through a sales quote or a partner, and any floor is set in the quote. Atera's Cynet add-on bills a 20-endpoint minimum, but that is Atera's channel term, not Cynet's (checked 2026-09-30).)
- Needs in-house security staff: no
- Setup time estimate: about 2 hours

## Who it suits

- small no it: Cynet is worth a quote if you want a security service rather than a product to run. From the Elite package up, EDR comes with the 24/7 CyOps MDR team, so an office without IT staff has analysts watching alerts from day one. Read the order form closely first: Cynet's EULA makes Sales Orders non-cancellable and fees non-refundable.
- msp managed: Cynet reads as an MSP platform first. It connects to ConnectWise, Datto RMM and Autotask, NinjaOne, N-able, Atera and HaloPSA, runs clients from a multi-tenant console, and brings its own MDR team, so a smaller MSP does not need to staff a SOC. SIEM forwarding is thinner. Cynet sends syslog to a third-party SIEM, with setup guides only for QRadar and SolarWinds SEM.
- regulated: Cynet suits a regulated office that must show someone watches its alerts around the clock, because the included MDR does exactly that. HIPAA, PCI DSS and CMMC all appear on its compliance hub, but Cynet does not say publicly that it signs a HIPAA business associate agreement, so ask before you buy. Its only lab result is MITRE's Enterprise 2025 evaluation, where it detected all 90 substeps on MITRE's default results view.

## Not for, or worth knowing

- Buyers who want a flexible, cancel-anytime contract: Cynet's Sales Orders are final and non-cancellable, and fees are non-refundable once signed. (source: https://www.cynet.com/eula/, verified 2026-10-02)
- Teams wanting instant self-serve purchase: Cynet requires contacting sales for a custom quote; there is no online checkout. (source: https://www.cynet.com/packages/, verified 2026-10-02)
- Not tested by AV-Test or AV-Comparatives; only MITRE ATT&CK evaluation for independent validation. (source: https://www.cynet.com/platform/, verified 2026-10-02)
- Pricing not published; requires contacting sales. (source: https://www.cynet.com/platform/, verified 2026-10-02)
- No patch management: neither Cynet's platform page nor its packages comparison lists patching among the modules, so operating system and application updates need a separate tool. (source: https://www.cynet.com/packages/, verified 2026-10-02)
